Tata Motors has revamped all its older car models to make them alluring and desirable by the Indian crowd. The company has rebuilt and re-established its name in the Indian automakers’ list.
Products like Tata Nexon compact SUV, Tata Tiago compact hatchback and Tata Tigor compact sedan have aced the list of TATA cars currently trending in India. With this in the success the company has recently made its way into the premium space with two products – Tata Harrier premium SUV and Tata X451 (codename) premium hatchback both of which made their debut in the 2018 Auto Expo. These are to be launched in January next year.

2019 Tata Harrier
The TATA Harrier SUV will be the first vehicle to feature the IMPACT design 2.0 philosophy. The SUV has been expected to come in Orange (as per November 2018 reports) and with flared wheel arches with 5 spoke alloy wheels.
The car has a high shoulder line with black B pillars and a triangular quarter glassed C pillar. The car also sports a raked windshield, a spoiler and slim wraparound tail lamps. The rear bumper is dual toned with silver inserts.
Tata Harrier Features
The official reports have not been released as yet, but sneak peeks have revealed the details of the interior of the new TATA Harrier. The interior gets a dual tone of grey and brown. It gets a small diameter steering wheel much like that of the TATA Nexon. The instrument panel has conventional round dials.
The centre console has been seen to have a floating dash-top touchscreen infotainment system which is absolutely state of the art. The new TATA Harrier has many similarities with TATA Nexon but is of a larger size than Nexon. There is also a distinguishing rotary drive selector on the centre tunnel right next to the transmission.

The car is supposed to feature a newly derived Kryotec 2.0L engine which is a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel power source. The maximum power output of the engine is to be around 140 hp.
This new TATA 5 seater SUV has been built with the all-new ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture. This technology has been derived from the Land Rover D8 architecture and has thus been developed in collaboration with the almighty Jaguar Land Rover.
In the Harrier, the NVH i.e. noise, vibrations and harshness levels will remain in check, as promised by TATA. The car also pays attention to safety and thus the crumple zone has been made of high strength steel making the car inflexible and strengthened.
The car after its official launch will be seen to rival against the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and the Nissan Kicks. While it will launch as a 5 seater, it is expected to be upgraded to a 7 seating capacity in the following years and that will in all probability be revealed in the 2020 Auto Expo.
The new TATA Harrier is to be priced at a starting price of 15 Lakhs. With increasing and improving specifications the price is expected to rise up to 18 Lakhs.
