A price hike of all vehicles, including from Toyota

It can be said that the Toyota models and even vehicles from most other manufacturers would be attracting higher on-road prices starting from the 1st of September, 2018.

This is because of the fact that the insurance body IRDA had made 3-year third party insurance a mandate for all the four-wheeled vehicles. It is even more rigorous for the two-wheel vehicle, where they would need to have the third-party insurance for a mandatory period of five years.

No engine upgrades or modifications to take place

The upgrades would only be limited to the features. The three models would not get any additional engine options or any changes in the present ones. The three models would continue to have the same mechanicals. The 2.7-litre petrol engine produces 164 bhp of power and a peak torque of 245 Nm.

There is also the 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with 4 cylinders that power the Innova Crysta. This engine is available in a number of different outputs ranging from 148 bhp to about 175 bhp. There would be no changes in these options during these upgrades.

The prices changes would be marginal

The prices would definitely be getting a hike as can be expected. But the price would be quite minimal. Now the Toyota Innova Crysta would start at Rs.14.65 lakh for the base petrol and the top spec would be automatic diesel trim, costing somewhere about Rs. 22.06 lakh.

It is expected that the price hike would not affect the sales considering the huge range of features that are now being offered to the customers.

Offering these features as standard has been a bold statement from the company and the customer reactions would be soon captured.
