The traditional family sedan has come up with much more punch and power has bumped up to 200hp and 300hp from 176hp and 248hp in the base and V6 variants respectively.
The 300hp V6 sprints from 0 to 60mph in just under 6 seconds while the naturally aspirated version takes 7.6seconds to achieve the same feat. The four-cylinder on the base trim is the most powerful naturally aspirated offered in the segment. Body roll has reduced significantly thanks to the stiffer suspension set up, and the steering weighs up much more linearly with build up in speed. The V6 is one of the most powerful in the segment, next only to the Ford Fusion’s aided by two turbos. The brakes are stronger and induce more confidence in the driver than the outgoing model did. Overall it is one of the most enthusiastic and plush family sedans.
Safety– When it comes to safety, ventilated disc brakes in the front and solid disc brakes in the rear work in conjunction along with other braking equipments such as anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. Additionally, the saloon gets 7 airbags, vehicle stability control, hill start assist control, electronically controlled brake system, speed sensing auto-lock, front 3-point ELR seatbelt with pre-tensioner and force limiter, smart key remind warning, immobilizer alarm, ISOFIX lane change indicator, etc.
Price and rivals– Priced at Rs. 36.95 lakhs, ex-showrom, the Toyota Camry comes at a significantly lower price as compared to its direct rival, the Honda Accord Hybrid, which is priced at Rs. 43.44 lakhs. The Camry competes against a number of petrol-powered sedans including the Skoda Superb, Jaguar XE, and the Audi A4.
Driving modes– You can take your pick from three distinct driving modes- Sport, Eco, and Normal, each designed to deliver a tailor-made drive at the push of a button.
Exclusive accessories– the all-new Toyota Camry is accompanied by an array of exclusive accessories, including comfortable safety belt pad, protective car cover, convenient luggage tray, welcome door lamp, elegant floor mat, plush car cushion, etc.
Eco-conscious and economical– like every Toyota hybrid electric car, the Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle produces up to 2 tons less CO2 per year than an equivalent car in the same class. Also, it is also worth noting that it is intelligently designed with two engines, one fuel and one self-charging electric, both working in harmony to deliver unmatched fuel efficiency. Besides, being able to switch engine modes is a huge benefit since you no longer worry about distances. When the battery runs low, excess power from the engine charges it back again. Additionally, the action of braking recycles energy to charge the battery, thus wasting nothing in the process.
Performance and comfort– the Hybrid Electric technology that the new Camry is equipped with, isnot only great for the environment, but also ensures a smoother, more powerful acceleration along with a more responsive torque, just when you need it. Also, compared to conventional cars, the Toyota Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle can run on its electric motor alone, offering a near-silent driving experience and an absolutely tranquil cabin ambience.
Toyota Camry edition primarily sports modified exterior and spruced up interior, leaving the mechanical setup unchanged. It continues to offer stellar performance.
The better insulation in the cabin and the slight modification in the suspension lead to even better ride quality on slow speeds. On the other hand, handling feels a tad softer and grip is also not very crisp after a while. On the whole, the premium saloon maintains its poise while on road, and is a strong contender against its competitors,
