Tata Tigor to Launch in India
So on the March 29 of 2017, TATA is to launch a new car with a starting price of 4. 7 lacs in India. The Tigor was displayed last year at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo as the Kite 5 concept. The company is retaining is most of the design details in Tigor from the concept car. The car is a styleback and the first in its category.
The front half of the car till the B pillar is a look alike of the TATA Tiago hatchback with a slightly different grille. Also Tigor comes with projector lamps lacking in Tiago. The rear segment of the car is all new. It is much longer than Tiago. The wheelbase has been stretched by 50mm and the overall length has been increased by 246mm. This has increased the comfort of the rear passengers giving them more leg and head space. The car comes with 15 inch diamond cut allow wheels. Tigor has one of the best rear-ends seen on a sub-4m sedan. The bootlid uses a smart 4-link opening mechanism which rids the need for hinges.
Although the external appearance of TATA Tiago differs much with the TATA Tiago, the interiors of the two cars are somewhat similar. But Tigor gives off a more classy vibe than Tiago. Tigor has the colour shades changed to a much darker tone in the car interior. Also the Tigor comes with a hi-tech touchscreen infortainment system along with an automatic climate control system which redefines the driving experience. Tiago came with Harman infotainment system but Tigor comes with a navigation system along with it and also is equipped with an integrated reverse camera with it.
The car is powered by powerful engines fuel by two variants – The 1.05-litre turbo-diesel unit and the 1.2-litre petrol motor. The 3-cylinder diesel motor puts out 70PS and 140Nm and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 3-cylinder petrol motor on the other hand puts out 85PS and 114Nm and is also mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both the variants operated in two modes – City and Eco which provides amazing performance.
The Tigor will be available in the following trims – The XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ.
TATA Tigor is made based on the IMPACT technology and comes to please the Indian crowd with amazing and attractive features at an extremely low cost. Thus Tigor will prove to be a practical, affordable and comfortable car and is sure to lure in a number of Indian buyers. With the last success of Tiago, TATA is very optimistic about this modified, refined and well defined version – the Tigor which comes embellished with better and more useful features and thus aims at appealing to a huge share of the Indian population.
