The rubber used to fit the tyres are different for the different weather conditions. The rubber for winter climate is different from rubber used in all-weather tyres. The rubber in the snow tyres contains more natural rubber and silica which allows the tyres to stay pliable at low temperature. But when you use all-weather tyres during the winter, they tend to harden and thus decreases the grip and traction. The winter tyres are designed to function very effectively during snowy and cold weather conditions. The tyres clear water from the surface to prevent any aquaplaning. Wet surfaces or surface which has a layer of thin snow on them does not allow all-weather tyres to get the best grip. Thus, causing an accident. What is the minimum tyre tread depth? The minimum tyre depth of the winter tyre should be around 1.6mm across the central three quarters and the entire circumference. But it is best to change your tyres when they are at 2mm. First, turn your wheels to full lock so that you can have a more detailed look at the tyres inner areas. So when you have a good tyre depth, then it will be easier and much safer to drive your car in the winter. What is the perfect pressure for your tyres? When you want to drive your car in the winter you need to check the pressure of your tires at least once a month so that you do not face any issues while riding. For instance, if your tyre pressure has a bar of 2 bar at a temperature of 20°C whereas the pressure may be at around 1.8 bar. So you will need to double check the tyre before taking it out.
