New Mahindra Marazzo
Truth be told, everyone has been waiting for the new Mahindra Marazzo MPV. Mahindra had unveiled its new MPV which had been all but spotted with the camouflage through spy shots. Now the prices for the new vehicle are out and Mahindra seems to be a very good place.
The price for this vehicle is less than the Tata Hexa and the current leader in the market, the Toyota Innova Crysta. It is also sharing territory with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which is the current leader in the category. However, the prices are not the only thing into consideration. It is time to check out if the Marazzo has got in it the potential to dominate the market.
Mahindra Marazzo – Exterior
The company has said the development and designs of the car cost somewhere around $200 million. Thus the Marazzo has the largest Mahindra footprint ever seen till date. The dimensions and the exterior features speak of bold design. The car boasts of a chrome-toothed grille and bold double barrel headlamps.
The fog lamps have the shape of eyes with integrated LED DRLs. The car also gets 17-inch alloy wheels with large ORVMs. The taillamps are inspired by a shark tail. A thick chrome slat connects them.
Mahindra Marazzo – Interior
The interior of the Marazzo has a swanky look. The car is available in both 7-seater and 8-seater layouts. The versions are a little different from each other. While the 7-seater design has the captain seat in the middle row, the 8-seat layout has a foldable bench with a 40:20:40 split.
The design o the cabin has a look of luxury to it. There is an option for a dual tone for the interiors. The dashboards have an off-white colour with a glossy centre panel. A futuristic cluster with purple illumination is also offered by the brand.
The Mahindra Marrazzo has lots of amazing features like the rear AC vents, the touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, the Blue Sense app from Mahindra and others.
The Marazzo also gets power windows, a driver information system, central locking, safety features like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, disc brakes and ISOFIX mounts with speed-warnings. There is also a rear parking camera with parking sensors and guideline displays. The car has lots of space for a long weekend getaway. There are lots of cup holders and places to keep the phone or wallet.
Mahindra Marazzo – Powertrain
Currently, the vehicle is available in only one diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre diesel engine offers 121 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The torque kicks in at 1500 rpm. The new engine is made from aluminium, which has helped to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle.

The Marazzo would be facing the Innova Crysta from Toyota. But considering it’s an MPV, it also has rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Tata Hexa and the Renault Lodgy. Though the Ertiga is the least expensive, this vehicle offers a lot more space on the inside and much more than what the others have on offer.
