On 10th October 2018, Hyundai India opened pre-booking for its new 2018 Santro and it received an overwhelming response. Almost a week from its launch, the bookings crossed 25000 which resulted in a three months production period.

The introductory price for this model was Rs. 3.89 Lakhs that made the demands for this car shoot up so high. Hyundai had declared that once the bookings double the current count, they will increase the price.
The bookings were halted recently and the sales figure for Hyundai this year stands at 52001 units. Given the high demand of the Hyundai Santro, the company has decided to manufacture 10000 units per month so that the minimum wait period be around 2-3 months for the customers. Available in Five Variants-
The Hyundai Santro will be available from its entry level version D-lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and the highest level, Asta. The Asta variant will have a special edition of green exterior and interior. So the huge variety opens up more options to choose from according to the needs of the buyer.
The Hyundai Santro is loaded with features of high standards. The top two variants i.e. Asta and Sportz will come with excellent infotainment system with Apple car play and Android Auto which is fully touchscreen. Also, it is going to be the first of its kind to have rear AC vents!

The Santro 2018 has a 1.1 litre petrol engine with 4-cylinders.it has a peak power of 69 BHP and peak torque of 99 NM. There will be an option for factory fitted CNG with the same engine only the peak power will be 59 BHP and 84 NM of peak torque. Both manual and automatic 5-speed gearbox is available. According to the ARAI testing, this car is a fuel efficient car thus making it all the more suitable for Indian market.
Safety and Great Performance-
The roads of India demands responsible driving and safety features in the car. So Hyundai has equipped the 2018 Santro with standard ABS and EBD. All the variants include a drive side airbag while Asta variant comes with passenger airbags also. All variants are fitted with pre-tensioner seat belts in all the seats except for the middle rear seat which will have a lap belt. The car has top speed rated at 156 Kmpl for all variants.
The first 50000 customers have cracked a great deal with the introductory pricing which is starting around Rs. 3.89 lakhs and go up to Rs. 5 lakhs. The prices are expected increase henceforth.
