There is minimal turbo lag and the engine can be pushed without any complaints. There is a responsive acceleration as well and city driving is also decent. The engine, however, feels a little too loud in the city and the clutch is also cumbersome at times. However, hassle-free driving can be majorly expected with the quicker gear shifting and good power at lower speeds. Ride quality has also improved hugely for the Polo with Volkswagen especially tuning the suspension setup to a softer setting for Indian roads.

The engine makes 230 Nm and 88 BHP which is pretty decent indeed. The fuel economy is also very impressive with an average of 19-20 kilometres per litre offered across variants.
