Toyota is an automobile company in India which has car of almost each and every segment plying on the roads. Starting from hatch backs to sedans and SUVs, Toyota has given quite a variety to the Indian car lovers to choose from. Toyota India has a wide number of cars up in their sleeves and includes Etios, Innova, Corolla Altis, Fortuner, Camry etc. Toyota has a special recognition as far SUVs are concerned.

As far as SUV styling and designing is concerned, most probably the Toyota Land Cruiser has rendered a new definition for it. The stylish and bold design of the exterior body is the signature of the Land Cruiser. As of now the model comes in six different colors to choose from. This is an all terrain car and probably the hardiest car from Toyota and is also the company’s longest running series of cars.

The front grills have been made more stylish and has a considerable amount of chrome; the high bonnet compliments the grill to render a stunning look at the front. The head lamps are BI-LED projectors and there are LED fog lamps at the front as well. At the sides the new alloy wheel designs are comprehensive and add style. Toyota Land Cruiser has a typical door handle styling which is very unique, with a chrome window profiling. Overall the car is 4950 mm in length, 1980 mm in width and 1910 mm in height. These dimensions help to make its presence felt on the roads. It has also got a reasonable wheel base of 2850 mm as well. The suspension system is also good with Double wishbone suspension at the front and Four Link type suspension at the rear.

The interiors have got a very stylish and luxurious outlook and there are a number of different driving indicators on the dash board. The entertainment system consists of an integrated audio system with steering mounted controls and has USB and Aux-in as well. Other features include a height adjustable driver seat, power steering, a sun visor and a sub visor and power windows. The ORVMs are internally adjustable and remote key less entry ensure convenience to the maximum.

Under the hood the diesel version has a v8 CRDi engine which throws back a power of 195 KW and a torque of 650 Nm. There is a 6 speed automatic gear box which takes care of the transmission. As far as mileage is concerned the diesel version gives 8 kmpl in city while the highway mileage is 11 kmpl.

Toyota has also taken care of the safety and security features. The Land Cruiser has 10 airbags which includes both the driver as well as the passenger airbags. The anti-lock braking and the electronic brake force distribution system ensure that the brakes do not get locked during the emergencies. Apart from these, there is vehicle stability control and hill start assist control and downhill assist control which have also been installed. Overall the Toyota Land Cruiser is a good purchase as far buying a SUV in India is concerned.
