MFC Buying Guide – Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Ertiga has been designed to look like a hybrid between a typical hatchback model and a conventional Multi Purpose Vehicle. The front part of the car comes with swept back styled head lights between which comes the larger chrome accented radiator grille along with bumpers with a sporty look. The bumper also comes with the fog lights with chrome surrounds.
The side profile of this car also looks like an MPV but offers a handsome appeal to the overall dimensions of the vehicle. Not much of the rear portion of the car has changed and comes with the typical Suzuki touch. The Ertiga also comes with a new set of 16 inch alloy wheels which have been given a sporty look. Coming to the dimensions of this MPV, the Ertiga measures 4,265mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,685mm in height and has got a wheelbase of 2,740mm.
This Maruti Suzuki MPV also comes with 185mm of ground clearance and 45 litres fuel tank capacity. It is somewhat compactly designed, due to which it needs a lesser turning radius of 5.2 metre. The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga have been given shades of black and beige with a seven seater orientation. It also comes with a touch screen audio visual system that has integrated Bluetooth technology, voice command, navigation system and a reverse parking camera as part of it. The Ertiga now also gets a smart key for push Start Stop functionality and electrically folding ORVMs.
Coming to the technical specifications of this car, the Ertiga comes in both petrol s well as diesel variants. The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is driven by the same K-Series petrol engine with 1,373cc displacement capacity and power output of 93.7bhp at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. It is mated to a five speed manual transmission system. A new four speed automatic transmission is also available with the petrol model.
This is the only MPV to be available in petrol automatic variant. The 1,248 cc DDiS diesel engine, delivers power of 89bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm. The diesel variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is said to return a mileage of 24.52kmpl while the petrol variants offer 17.5kmpl. The diesel variant is now available in an optional SHVS that is hybrid variant.
What makes the Ertiga so popular is its no-nonsense package with large comfortable interiors, which makes it an ideal car for families. It has also got good engines that offer good driveability and are fuel efficient as well.
