Mahindra Launches New and More Powerful Bolero Power+
Mahindra is planning to revamp their Bolero name in the Indian market. Before the launch of a smaller sub 4 m Bolero, the Indian SUV manufacturer has launched a more powerful version of the SUV. Named as the ‘New Bolero Power+’, it comes with a 1.5 litre mHawkD70 diesel engine which produces 13 per cent more power and returns five per cent more mileage over the current Bolero. The New Bolero Power+ is being sold in three variants – SLE, SLX & ZLX at the starting price of INR 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai).
Powerful Bolero Power Plus
The mHawkD70 diesel engine generates 71.3PS output and 195Nm of peak torque. The earlier m2DiCR 2.5 litre diesel engine produced 63PS output and 195Nm of peak torque. With the advanced motor, the fuel efficiency has also been increased by five per cent. Mahindra also claims that the handling of the Bolero Power+ has been made better and that the SUV now comes with improved and easier controls. The interiors of the Bolero remain same as the earlier model but the seating arrangement has been improved, resulting in a more comfortable ride with plush seats.
In terms of the exterior design, the Bolero Power+ mostly remains identical to the standard Bolero. On looking closer and we will be able to see a slightly reworked front bumper. The front radiator grille, air dam, head lamps and everything else remains the same. It is available in four types of colour options – Diamond White, Rocky Beige, Java Brown and Silver.
The Bolero Power+ comes with Mahindra’s Micro Hybrid technology on the ZLX trim, which increases the fuel economy of the SUV. This technology allows the car to intelligently switch the engine into standby mode when it is not being required and that ensures lower fuel consumption while being more environment friendly. Another feature which has been introduced in the new Bolero Power+ is the engine immobiliser, which shuts down the engine if any key apart from your key is used, making sure of the safety of this vehicle
Speaking on the new Bolero launch, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “The Bolero has been India’s No.1 SUV for 10 years in a row from 2005-06 to 2015-16 and the all New Bolero Power+ is an evolution of this powerful brand. In our endeavour to enhance the product value proposition, we have introduced the New Bolero Power+ with the mhawkD70 engine delivering more power, more mileage & a peppier drive. I am sure that the New Bolero Power+, with its overall better value proposition, will heighten its appeal not only amongst its core customers but also excite more buyers.”
This is a much welcomed change in the Bolero, which had been losing out on the interest of buyers. With improved power features and better fuel efficiency, the all new Bolero Power+ SUV is bound to appeal to a wider range of car buyers in India now. The New Bolero Power+ is certain to offer a peppier drive quality.
