Mahindra and Mahindra is a brand name that is synonymous with the image of the machine of choice, which is able to take on the highest roads in the world. From the house of Mahindra and Mahindra, the new Mahindra NuvoSport is the latest SUV. This car is the face lifted edition of the earlier model Mahindra Quanto. The NuvoSport is a sub-compact SUV that not only has been given a new name, but has also got some fresh styling with better features, and also an AMT unit. As Mahindra says, the NuvoSport is aimed at the new generation urban youth of today.
Though the Quanto was built on the company’s INGENIO platform which is the same platform as the Xylo, the Mahindra NuvoSport shares its platform with the new generation Scorpio. In terms of its appearance, the NuvoSport comes with a newly styled front fascia that has been given a complete redesigning to offer it a more aggressive SUV-like look. In the front, the NuvoSport has been given LED Daytime Riding Lights, a bumper with a brawny look, faux skid plate, etc.
That said, the rear and side profile of the NuvoSport are mostly similar to that of the earlier model Quanto, with stylish add-on features like chrome accents , foot board, plastic cladding and a new spare wheel cap. It has been given dimensions of 3,985mm length, 1,870mm height and 1,850mm width with a generous wheel base of 2,760mm. The inside of this car comes with a considerable makeover with better features and interiors than the Quanto and a whopping boot space of 412 litre.
The Nuvo Sport also boasts of a host of new other things like a touch screen audio visual system, airbags, cruise control and ABS (anti-lock braking system) though these are mostly available on the top variant. Safety features include its adherence to the proposed BNVSAP safety norms and is expected to get dual airbags as an optional feature starting from the base variants. Mahindra NuvoSport will retain the Quanto’s power train that is the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine which has been re-tuned for improved efficiency.
