Hyundai’s Santro set to make a comeback in 2018 with a brand new image
The legendary Hyundai Santro is set to make a re-entry In India. Hyundai has got plans to make their once hugely popular hatchback to be re-launched in the Indian market in a brand new look. The new model is known to have a code named as “AH” and is Hyundai’s attempt to get its game on in the low budget car segment. The production of the Santro was stopped by Hyundai back in December 2015 since the company wanted to focus on its more profit making models namely the Elite i20, Xcent and Grand i10 which were also in high demand.

The Hyundai Eon was the only car from this Korean car maker to cater to the needs of budget buyers. But it seems that the Hyundai Eon has been facing reducing sales due to the tough competition from cars like Maruti Suzuki’s Alto, Renault’s KWID and a few others too. And considering Santro’s positive image in our country, Hyundai will be bringing back a re-incarnated version by the first half of 2018. Hyundai has shared their plans of manufacturing the new Santro in India, and export it globally from here.
Hyundai Santro 2018 will be coming with an AMT unit. This will be the first Hyundai car to come with the AMT option. We have received confirmed news from various sources regarding this. The all new Santro will be replacing the i10 and it will be driven by a 1.0 litre petrol engine. This will be given the 1.0 litre engine that is highly refined and offers better performance even better fuel economy.
Hyundai will be offering this with a five speed manual option. In terms of its looks, the design will be based on the new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language and will be giving several modern features and functions to the car. The new Hyundai Santro will have a tall boy design much like the car which we were used to seeing earlier. It will also have a stylish front fascia while the side profile will be simple. Good power and improved fuel efficiency will be the basic features for the new Santro. It is expected to come under the price range of INR 4 lakh to INR 6 lakh.
This is set to happen when Hyundai will be celebrating 20 years of its presence in India. In October 1998, Hyundai had started its journey in India with the launch of the Santro. The Korean car maker is looking at celebrating this grand event. The Hyundai Santro was the first and the most successful car for the company and news sources claim that this will be the car that is set to make a grand return. But this time it will be back in a new look with more space, features, power and even better fuel efficiency. Hyundai is eyeing to launch this new Santro by October 2018 which will be the perfect time to re-launch this hatchback.
