Frankfurt Motor Show 2017
The Frankfurt Motor Show is one of the most prestigious and oldest car events in the world especially for the German automobile companies like BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi. This motor show is known for its mind boggling display of locomotives. The history of the motor show dates back to the year 1897 when the first international motor show in Germany was help in Berlin. These motor shows were not solely limited to Frankfurt but also a few other cities in the country. The event commenced from September 16th 2017 and is set to continue till September 24th 2017 for public viewing. Two press days on 12-13 September followed by a couple of trade days on 14-15 September were also scheduled. Tickets cost from €12 online, and a bit more expensive at the gate. Children under the age of seven are admitted for free.

The event for passenger cars takes place in Messe Frankfurt, an exhibition centre with several centuries of history as a trade fair venue, on odd years. Even years see the event move to Hanover, where the focus is on commercial vehicles. It tends to attract around a quarter of a million visitors.
The show contained, as usual, a relentless parade of new German premium machinery. There were several truly beautiful concepts from each of the automobile giants. There are more than 25 major reveals up until now and many more are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
One of the biggest controversies in the automobile industry prior to the event was the dieselgate scandal. Eager to turn the corner on the `dieselgate` emissions cheating scandal, carmakers are falling over themselves to present a futuristic vision of sleek, self-driving electric cars that do all the work as you lean back and enjoy the ride. This thus opens up a new avenue for car makers to showcase even more new variants in the future especially in the upcoming motor shows.
Some of the cars already making news in the event are Audi A8, Audi A7, Bentley Continental GT, BMW-6 series, BMW i3s, Honda Jazz, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Kona, Jaguar E-Pace, Hyundai i30 and much more.
