Mahindra has launched their TUV300 as a rugged and bold car. The front end comes with a large grille with 5 slats and chrome accents, which is flanked by the square shaped head lamps. Coming to the engine specifications, the Mahindra TUV300 is driven by Mahindra’s mHawk80 engine. This engine is a 1.5 litre unit which comes with 3 cylinders and is capable of producing 84bhp of output and 230Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with a 5 speed manual transmission and is said to offer a mileage of about 18.9 kmpl. The Renault Lodgy has got a greater wheel base compared to its rival the Innova, which translates to more cabin space. There is sufficient space in the first two rows and even the third row is larger than most of the other MPVs in its class. This car is available in seven seat or eight seat versions. The top variant comes loaded with a decent feature list which includes touch screen music system, alloy wheels, rear parking camera and steering mounted audio controls.
The Lodgy is powered by two versions of the 1.5 litre K9K turbocharged diesel engine. The 85bhp – 200Nm variant makes use of the five speed manual transmission, while the more powerful 110bhp – 245Nm unit comes mated to a six speed gearbox. The certified fuel economy of the 85 bhp output version is claimed to be at 21.04 kmpl and the 110 bhp output model claims to offer 19.98 kmpl.
