The All New Hyundai Elantra Sees Over 1,500 Orders under 3 Months
The sixth generation of the classy looking Elantra from the house of Korean auto maker Hyundai, which was recently launched in India during the latter part of August, has already recorded more than 1500 bookings since its launch in this country. It has been less than three months that the car has gone on sale in our country and clearly it seems to have created quite a lot of interest among the car buyers.
The All New Hyundai Elantra
The Elantra sedan has been a part of the South Korean`s car maker`s vehicle line up since the year 1990, but it was the third generation version that was launched in India back in 2004. While the initial response to this car was quite positive, the reducing popularity of the mid size sedans in the Indian market affected the sales of the Elantra as well. But now times have changed and there is a rising demand for premium mid size sedans in our country today, which the company has taken advantage of to launch the all new model of the Elantra and leverage its sales.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “The recently launched All New Elantra, received an overwhelming response with 1,509 bookings resulting in 4-5 months waiting period, we thank our customers for showing confidence in Brand Hyundai”
The long waiting time has come to many as a surprise and as news reports suggest, the car maker had postponed the release of the Hyundai Tucson to help in dealing with the huge numbers of booking that the brand new generation of the Elantra has garnered.
The new generation of Hyundai Elantra has been built on the car maker`s latest design language and comes with a range of cosmetic as well as smart features. The Hyundai Elantra has got a number of new updates such as refreshed styling and modern features. It also has got a long list of provisions which include a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth, AUX-In and USB connectivity. The new model of the Elantra now looks pretty much smarter with the Fluidic 2.0 design and also comes with a whole range of gadgets which have really set the standard in its egment and is well built.
Under the hood, the new version of the Hyundai Elantra comes with 2 engine options – the new 147 bhp 2 litre MPI four cylinder petrol engine and the 126 bhp generating 1.6 litre diesel engine, which has been carried over from the Hyundai Creta. There is a set of two gearboxes on offer for the buyers namely, a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The uncertainty of whether large diesel engines will be exempted or not in many of the metro cities has shown a huge positive response towards petrol engines and more importantly the petrol automatic ones.
