2020 Hyundai Sonata
The 2020 Sonata flaunts a cascading grille with chrome highlights upfront. The DRLs extend from the LED headlamps to the A-pillar along the crease of the hood. Thanks to the multi-spoke alloy wheels, this luxury sedan gets a sporty look. the roofline descends to the boot of the car, lending it a notchback silhouette. The rear profile shows off an aggressively styled diffuser. The sharply designed tail lamp runs across the width of the car.
The cabin boasts of a Bose sound system which employs digital signal processing technology to ensure that the occupants are in the centre of the audio, irrespective of their position. The multimedia system is adaptive and hence, adjusts the equalizer based on the speed of the car.
The dashboard is decked with fabric that is similar to the seats and the door panels and a touchscreen infotainment system is positioned at the centre. The air conditioning vents have now been shrunk that enhance the sense of space in the cabin. Besides, one cannot help but be impressed by the ambient lighting and satin chrome accents on the steering wheel that add a classy and upmarket feel to the cabin.
The new Sonata has a 30mm lower ride height than its predecessor and is 25mm wider. The wheelbase is longer by 35mm while the overall length is increased by 45mm. However, technical specifications have not been revealed yet.
Nevertheless, the car is suspected to be powered by the same 2.0litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid. In all likelihood, the all-new Sonata will be offered in the Indian market to rival the likes of Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb, and the Volkswagen Passat, but not anytime soon. The Korean carmakers are expected to showcase the Sonata at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.
